A Message from Robert Marino

A Message from Robert Marino Regarding Continuity of Operations

During this unprecedented time, the safety of our employees, clients, and communities is our clear priority. We have been following the CDC and Maryland Department of Health guidelines closely and were advised that Maryland Governor Larry Hogan declared consulting engineering practices to be “essential businesses” that may remain open and operational. The state of Maryland has issued a Maryland Strong: Roadmap to Recovery, and we are now in Stage 1 of that plan.

During the past two months, most of our staff have been working remotely. Equipped with the technology and processes needed to remain productive, they continued to work efficiently and collaboratively to meet the needs of our clients and our projects. Beginning June 15th, most employees will return to the office on modified schedules, with several new policies, procedures, and practices in effect to ensure that we maintain a safe workplace and environment.

Our business hours and work shifts have been revised, reducing the number of employees in the office at one time. Project teams have been assigned staggering schedules that will continue to allow in-office collaboration. Our business travel will remain restricted to essential travel only. We will use virtual meetings whenever possible.

We have also coordinated with our building’s owner to ensure extended HVAC system operations as appropriate, increased outside ventilation air, and carefully monitored AHU filtration. Per Mueller’s “Memorandum on Coronavirus/COVID-19,” we are working with our clients to assist them in assessing building mechanical systems as needed.

Strong communications remain vital to the success of our projects. Our project managers will continue to be in contact with clients and team members via phone, email, and web-based meetings, to discuss our sustained availability, and maintain an open dialogue on how we are available to assist them during this time.

We value our relationships with our clients and partners and appreciate your willingness to work with us to keep projects moving forward while protecting the health and safety of all involved. We will continue to monitor state and local review agency status and are prepared to adapt to any further changes while still protecting the safety and wellbeing of our employees and pledging our commitment to our clients.

We will meet this challenge with professionalism, creativity, and compassion. Every Mueller associate will continue to deliver and live up to our core principals of “Engineering Great Experiences.” Please don’t hesitate to call me at 443.386.7247 or email me at rmarino@muellerassoc.com if you have any questions or concerns.
