A Message from Robert Marino

A Message from Robert Marino Regarding Continuity of Operations

During this unprecedented time, the safety of our employees, clients, and communities is our clear priority. We have been following the CDC and Maryland Department of Health guidelines closely and continue to be advised that Maryland Governor Larry Hogan has declared consulting engineering practices to be “essential businesses” that may remain open and operational. The state of Maryland has issued a Maryland Strong: Roadmap to Recovery. Mueller is following that plan, as well as those of other states where we conduct business.

Whether working remotely or in the office, our staff is equipped with the technology and processes needed to remain productive. They continue to work efficiently and collaboratively to meet the needs of our clients. Our employees are working in the office on modified, split-shift schedules, with several policies, procedures, and practices in effect to ensure that we maintain a safe workplace and environment.

Our business hours and work shifts have been revised, reducing the number of employees in the office at one time. Project teams have been assigned schedules that will continue to allow in-office collaboration. Our leadership team, including all project managers, is in the office on a full-time basis, and we continue to meet weekly to review all project schedules and deliverables.

Our business travel remains restricted to essential travel only. We use virtual meetings whenever possible.

We have also coordinated with our building’s owner to ensure extended HVAC system operations as appropriate, increased outside ventilation air, and carefully monitored AHU filtration. Per Mueller’s Memorandum on Coronavirus/COVID-19,” we are working with our clients to assist them in assessing building mechanical systems as needed.

Strong communications remain vital to the success of our projects. Our project managers continue to be in contact with clients and team members to discuss our availability. We maintain an open dialogue on how we are available to continue to meet our clients’ needs at all times.

We value our relationships with our clients and partners and appreciate their willingness to work with us to keep projects moving forward while protecting the health and safety of all involved. We will continue to monitor state and local review agency status and are prepared to adapt to any further changes while still protecting the safety and wellbeing of our employees and pledging our commitment to our clients.

We are committed to meeting this challenge with professionalism, creativity, and compassion. Every Mueller associate will continue to deliver and live up to our core principles of “Engineering Great Experiences.” Please don’t hesitate to call me at 443.386.7247 or email me at rmarino@muellerassoc.com if you have any questions or concerns.
