Morgan State University • Baltimore, Maryland
The Calvin and Tina Tyler Hall is a new landmark on the historic Morgan State University campus, bringing all of the student services departments under one roof and providing a dynamic, technology-rich gathering place for students. The 139,000-square-foot building, LEED® Gold building features a three-story atrium, a 250-seat auditorium, offices, lounges, and meeting rooms. The expressive structure, with sweeping curved walls, expanses of glass curtain wall, and bold red siding, creates a dramatic, modern presence at the heart of the campus and serves as an uplifting “front door” to the university.
Mueller provided comprehensive mechanical engineering services for the building’s design, the fifth project the firm has completed for the university. The building has a dedicated heating plant and is connected to the campus’s central chilled water distribution system.
