Duke University’s Christine Siegler Pearson Building incorporates breakthrough technologies and instructional approaches for the nationally acclaimed nursing and research program. The building includes lecture halls, an auditorium, hospitality spaces, group study rooms, laboratories, and offices. Classrooms are equipped with technology to support patient simulation, data analysis, and distance learning. MEP and lighting systems minimize energy and water use, in keeping with the LEED®-Silver strategies employed throughout the design. The building was constructed in two phases to keep pace with the school’s rapidly growing enrollment, which has doubled over the past decade. The four-story, phase II expansion created 45,000 square feet of additional classrooms and nursing skills and simulation labs.
