University of Maryland, Eastern Shore • Princess Anne, Maryland
With the new School of Pharmacy and Health Professions, the University of Maryland, Eastern Shore will consolidate its pharmacy and allied health programs into a single building to fulfill a long-standing goal tied to accreditation. Pharmacy classes, laboratories, and faculty offices are currently spread throughout six buildings.
The three-story structure is located on the east side of campus opposite the Engineering and Aviation Science Complex. The School of Pharmacy and Health Professions will include a pharmacy practice lab (dispensing lab), pharmacy information center/resource room, anatomy and physiology labs, pharmacology labs, pharmaceutical teaching labs, auditorium-style classroom for 120 students, computer lab, Dean’s suite, and support spaces.
In addition to supporting the university’s pharmacy program, the new building includes shared spaces for other health science departments, such as a kinesiology research lab, a rehabilitation services home-health laboratory as well as a clinical simulation center for pharmacy, physical therapy, and physician assistant instruction.
