National Archives and Records Administration

Renovation Projects Improve Utilization and Centralize Digitization

Mueller has been working at the National Archives and Records Administration’s (NARA) facility at College Park, Maryland which serves as the primary base of operations for the bulk of the senior offices within the organization of the National Archives. The National Archives at College Park primarily holds government records of the 20th century and receives current holdings from the 21st century as they become available from government agencies. The center also possesses a small number of 19th-century (and earlier) records; however, the bulk of these historic holdings are maintained at the National Archives Building in Washington. A security vault is maintained at College Park which contains high-profile historical artifacts.

The Archives building at College Park holds textual records from civilian agencies as well as Army unit records dating from WW1; Navy unit records dating from WW2; still pictures; electronic records; cartographic and architectural holdings; motion picture, sound, and video records; JFK Assassination Records; and the Berlin Documents Center microfilm.

Under an IDIQ contract, Mueller has provided MEP engineering services on a series of renovation projects, all of which aim to transform the NARA College Park location to improve utilization and centralize digitization.
