Artis Center for Adaptive Innovation and Creativity
Radford University’s groundbreaking Artis Center for Adaptive Innovation and Creativity, spanning 178,000 SF, is set to redefine campus dynamics. As the largest capital construction initiative in the university’s history, this $101 million project integrates arts, health sciences, and technology programs, shaping a transformative pedagogical approach.
This multi-story center will become a vibrant hub, housing a diverse array of spaces, including classrooms, clinical simulation training suites, performance venues, studios, maker spaces, computer centers, and cutting-edge virtual and augmented reality labs. Its design emphasizes collaborative environments, fostering dynamic teaching and research, supported by dedicated office and academic support functions. Specialized areas encompass an instructional auditorium, theater, metal-working shop, photography suite, health science clinical labs, painting and drawing studios, and music and dance studio spaces.
Mueller’s engineering solutions played a pivotal role, aligning with the university’s objectives for reduced maintenance costs through energy-efficient systems. This visionary project promises to shape the future of Radford University’s educational landscape.
