University of Delaware
Roselle Center for the Arts
The University of Delaware Roselle Center for the Arts features a 480-seat proscenium theater, a 220-seat recital hall, and a 350-seat music rehearsal hall, along with a rehearsal facility, practice rooms and offices. To minimize vibration, the theater structure is isolated from the rest of the building, with no hard connection between the two structures. Mueller successfully addressed the challenge of incorporating ductwork, piping, and conduit into the structures while maintaining the isolation. An underslab supply air plenum in the recital hall features air diffusers under every seat.
