National Native American Veterans Memorial
Set on the grounds of the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of the American Indian, the National Native American Veterans Memorial honors the military service of American Indian, Native Hawaiian, and Alaska Native veterans. The memorial, entitled Warriors’ Circle of Honor, was designed by artist Harvey Pratt of the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes of Oklahoma. The design features a stainless-steel circle balanced on a carved stone drum, with a water feature for sacred ceremonies, a fire element, lighting, audiovisual systems, and benches.
Mueller’s services for this acclaimed project, set prominently along the National Mall, included the design of electric supply; water and natural gas utilities; power connections, grounding, and raceways for the IT systems; plumbing piping and backflow prevention; power for equipment and water feature systems; and lighting controls.

"The more you sit in this place, the more it seems like a promise, analogous to the survival and persistence of Native American culture through centuries of betrayal, theft, and displacement. This new memorial is in harmony with that hope…"Philip KennicottThe Washington Post
