Northrop Grumman

More Than 1,000 Projects Over the Past Five Decades

Mueller’s work for Northrop Grumman—and its predecessor company, Westinghouse—dates to 1976 when we were first tasked with engineering the E3A Test Area, testing sites for the U.S. Air Force’s Airborne Warning and Control System. Mueller has since completed more than 1,000 projects for the Fortune 500 defense industry giant, a majority for its Mission Systems division. Work has been completed throughout Maryland, the Northeast, Mexico, and Puerto Rico. Projects have ranged in complexity and sensitivity including system design for industrial process facilities; electronics testing and assembly spaces; laboratory retrofits; engineering for cleanrooms, anechoic chambers, plating facilities, and secure areas; office fit-outs; equipment utility upgrades; and comprehensive infrastructure upgrades. The size and construction values of these projects are confidential.

Our work with Northrop Grumman involves consistently meeting fast-track schedules and adapting to evolving requirements. Just as Northrop Grumman responds to the ever-changing needs of its clients, Mueller quickly adjusts our perspectives and approaches while remaining focused on the objectives and overall mission. We collaborate closely with client representatives to meet exacting standards for these mission-critical assignments. Tasks have included engineering for a 100,000 SF expansion to Northrop Grumman’s Central Services Building near BWI Airport, phased facility infrastructure improvements at the company’s Sykesville campus, and a central plant expansion and utility infrastructure upgrade at the Applied Technology Lab in Baltimore.
